The Role
To complete varied electrical installation tasks including:
1. Layout of electrical components within electrical control panels and on equipment framework.
2. Installation of cable tray, trunking and conduits to an acceptable standard.
3. Testing of installations as and when required.
4. Wiring of Electrical Control Panels, frame mounted components and specialised machinery.
5. Correct use of hand tools, power tools, crimp tools to industry standards.
6. Liaise with personnel internal to the company to ensure that the requirements of all parties are executed in a safe manner and to a high standard.
7. Be reactive to work when required which is electrical and none electrical based.
8. Ensure conformance to all local client and company procedures, including the relevant legislations.
Key Activities
1. All work undertaken to be in line with Ansaldo Nuclear internals quality procedures.
2. Understand and follow work instructions via route cards / jobs sheets / inspection plans.
3. All work to be completed in line with the Company Health & Safety Policy & Procedures.
4. Able to read and interpret Electrical General Arrangement, Schematic and Wiring Drawings.
5. Undertake mechanical fitting of electrical components and associated equipment.
6. Fit wiring and wire control panels in accordance with supplied drawings.
7. Ability to work within a team or independently.
8. Self-motivated with the ability to meet set deadlines.
9. Any other tasks deemed to be within your capabilities.
10. Carrying out other duties and special projects as required. Working flexibly within the CSS team to ensure that the current and future needs of the business are met.
11. Ensure that they understand and sign onto the relevant safe systems of work associated with the task.
12. Record any problems encountered during the progress of the work and notify their line management of the details in a prompt manner.
13. Measuring and marking out to specified drawing dimensions.
14. Willing to do overtime if requested.
15. Keep site and equipment clean and in a safe condition.
Knowledge and Experience
The individual will ideally have completed, as a minimum, a recognised training scheme or apprenticeship. Level 3 qualification.
18th Edition Electrical Safety Regulations preferred.
Desirable skills: MEWP, PASMA, Harness, Forklift, Scissor lift, Scaffold inspection.
Able to work using your own initiative.
Have previous experience wiring control panels and field wiring.
Salary and Benefits
£30-40,000 annual and OT.
37 hours on days, however there will be an expectation to complete shifts - these could be rotating AM/PM shifts depending on company need.
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
