My client is a leading provider of legal and claims solutions to the UK insurance industry. An opportunity has arisen in their Newcastle office for an experienced litigation/personal injury paralegal to join a smallplex Injury team, in which the successful candidate can expect to undertake a wide range of tasks with supervision from experienced fee earners. The team in question deals with non-delegated high value multi-track and catastrophic injury claims including assisting on multi-million pound brain injury, spinal injury, amputation and fatal claims.
Specific duties and responsibilities for this role will include, but will not be limited to:
1. The preparation of documentation for court ( filing, serving and diarising court documents) and drafting of witness statements as and when required.
2. Instructing counsel and assisting experts for hearings, joint settlement meetings and other additional meetings between parties.
3. Regularmunication with the court in relation to hearings, applications and consent orders.
4. Analysing medical records/additional evidence ( photographs and CCTV) and updating clients accordingly.
5. Ensuringpliance with GDPR / maintenance of legal privilege with legal documentation.
6. Undertaking legal research as and where required.
My client requires applicants to have achieved an absolute minimum of 5 A-C GCSE grades, and applicants must be able to demonstrate a keen interest in law as a result of further legal study ( law degree, CILEx, LPC, SQE studies). Candidates who already have experience within a legal environment, particularly in a personal injury litigation context, will be looked upon more favourably. Salary is fully dependent on the particular experience that the successful candidate can bring to the role.
