Vickerstock are working in partnership with a Building Materials & Hardware supplier on the appointment of a Purchasing Manager.
This role has been created due to the continuous growth and development of the business.

In our new role:
5. Sourcing & building relationships with key suppliers negotiating best price & lead times whilst continually monitoring performance
6. Work closely with other member of the procurement department to develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
7. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
8. Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
9. Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
10. Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
11. Perform cost and scenario analysis, and bench-marking
12. Assess, manage and mitigate risks
13. Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
14. Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
What you will need to succeed:
15. A minimum of 5 years experience working in a fast paced, purchasing department at a senior level
16. Experienced in using MRP/ERP systems
Desirable:
17. Experience in buying fixings and fastenings from the far east
