This impressive manufacturer in Burnley has multiple sites in the UK, all with different manufacturing purposes, a prominent and growing international presence, yet retain a small business culture. Their finance team is currently at capacity and are in need of a Finance Assistant to support their Accounts Payable function.
This Finance Assistant job will take ownership of a selected number of suppliers and be responsible for everything from setting up supplier accounts through to setting up payments and providing statements. You will process a high volume of purchase invoices monthly, resolving any queries and ensuring all the correct nominal codes are applied. You will also reconcile supplier statements to accounts, provide payment reports as requested, and provide additional ad hoc support to the wider finance team as requested in order to meet month-end deadlines.
This accounts job requires at least 1 years' experience in a finance team, ideally working on the purchase ledger. Professional development and progression is encouraged for individuals who are keen to develop, with AAT study support provided by the company available. But, on the same note, if you are more experienced finance candidate and not looking to progress and just in need of a new role in a bigger team maybe with more structure, progression and development is not an essential attribute required. Attributes that are required are a 'can do' attitude, hardworking, friendly and with a strong team mentality as you will be joining an established and coherent team who all work together to meet their monthly goals. You must be an organised, processed driven and system capable with a have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
You will be an integral part of the finance team and have a high degree of autonomy in your role however due to the size of their supplier base and strong finance team, there is clear upward support when needed.
