We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Building Surveyor to join our Consulting team in Manchester, welcoming applications from Building Surveyors across this region.
As a Building Surveyor, you will provide effective support and assistance to your Team Leader on various Prison, Schools, and Healthcare schemes, taking the lead on projects and mentoring junior members of the team.
Responsibilities include:
* Inspecting buildings and systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) and identifying defects and potential hazards.
* Inventorying and documenting all assets, maintaining detailed records with photos and descriptions.
* Ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards, conducting safety audits.
* Preparing detailed reports with findings and recommendations, providing cost estimates for repairs and maintenance.
* Developing and implementing maintenance schedules, overseeing repair and maintenance work.
* Communicating findings to facility managers and stakeholders, collaborating with other professionals (architects, engineers, contractors).
Requirements include:
* Degree in Building Surveying or a related field such as civil engineering, architecture, or construction management.
* Professional Qualifications such as membership in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or similar professional bodies.
* Experience in inspecting buildings and assessing the condition of various systems, identifying defects and hazards, and familiarity with local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations.
* Inventory Management: Experience in creating and maintaining asset inventories, proficiency in detailed record-keeping and report writing.
* Maintenance Planning: Experience in developing and implementing maintenance schedules, supervising repair and maintenance projects to ensure quality and timely completion.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in communicating findings and recommendations to facility managers and other stakeholders, working with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals.
