West Berkshire Council is recruiting a Principal Performance, Research & Information Officer to join the ‘Performance, Research and Risk’ team.
As part of a dedicated team working to support decision makers to make evidence-based decisions, the post is delivering three main functions:
1. Management of a team providing performance management advice and support to Children and Family Services and Adult Social Care
2. Sourcing, processing and reporting data and intelligence from a range of systems and sources, including from research, evaluations and consultations
3. Overseeing statutory returns to Government, including data/intelligence preparation for inspections (e.g. Ofsted inspections)
Our ideal candidate would have the following skills and attributes
4. You should be educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification relevant for the post.
5. Possess strong IT skills.
6. You will possess the relevant knowledge and experience to successfully manage the reporting specifications for software providers, including overseeing the production of reports to extract and report data by external or internal staff.
7. As the performance management specialist supporting the social care services, sound knowledge and understanding of the local government children safeguarding and adult social care functions are essential. This includes knowledge and experience of designing and delivering research and consultation exercises.
8. As the role covers a diverse range of technical and performance management tasks, strong organisational and project management skills are required
