You know as Planning Engineer that contract review & planning work hand in hand; in some businesses this is separated, but by keeping them in one team full control is maintained at all times. There is no chasing another department to make sure something has been ordered or no chasing planning to make sure your job is in line because you and your very experienced colleague will do this together.
When the order comes in, your thought process as Planning Engineer is:
* Can we manufacture in-house? What machines need to be used? What’s their capacity?
* Are we going to subcontract elements of the work?
* What materials do we need? Where will you source them?
* What process does the metal need to go through to achieve the desired outcome?
* What are the timescales?
* Create IPS/MPS's based on the customer requirements.
As a Planning Engineer, you will be used to a fast-paced manufacturing environment where you are juggling lots of parts, making sure that they all drop into the right place at the right time.
You love speaking to suppliers, always making sure you get the best deal for the company, and you know how to achieve what you want from your shop floor too!
As Planning Engineer, your admin is very strong; you make sure that every conversation is logged, and everything is processed and visible onto the company's MRP system.
You are joining a business that is part of a bigger group and promoted from within. Your predecessor has been promoted, so what could this mean for your career?
Working in a small team means that you are never just a number; your ideas are listened to and embraced!
They have built a great team that you can be part of. I've known these guys for a long time and was there with them when they brought in their first member of staff. Together, we have managed to attract talented professionals from the industry as well as developing and nurturing people who didn’t even know what the product looked like before they started.
This role might be a step up for you in a bigger team; you might be looking for some autonomy and the chance to grow. You will get that here; these guys invest in their people. When you become part of the team, that’s your open door to a career rather than just another job.
We all love Fridays, who doesn’t? You’ll be finishing early every other Friday, which means more time with family or friends.
You will be rewarded with a competitive salary of £30k-£35k (could be more depending on experience), and a company bonus scheme.
You will be someone who has worked within a metals-based industry; your stomping ground might be steel, pressings, machining, CNC, or machined components.
Marshall Harmony engages exclusively with our customers; you won’t be approached by any third party in relation to this role.
