The Role:
As a Geography Teacher, you will bring the subject to life, igniting curiosity and encouraging critical thinking. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan and teach high-quality, dynamic lessons that cater to a range of learning abilities across Key Stages 3 and 4.
2. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the design and adaptation of the Geography curriculum to meet national standards and the needs of all students.
3. Assessment & Feedback: Regularly assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching strategies to support continued development.
4. Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment, using effective behaviour management strategies.
5. Student Development: Encourage a deep understanding of geographic concepts, including sustainability, climate change, globalisation, and urbanisation.
6. Extra-curricular Involvement: Organise and participate in field trips, geography-related events, and extracurricular activities to enhance students' learning experience.
7. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other faculty members to share best practices and ensure a cohesive learning experience for all students.
Requirements:
8. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Must hold QTS and have a relevant degree in Geography or a closely related subject.
9. Experience in Education: Proven experience teaching Geography at secondary level (KS3 and KS4). Experience with KS5 is desirable but not essential.
10. Subject Passion: A strong passion for Geography, with the ability to inspire students and make complex topics accessible.
11. Classroom Management: Demonstrated success in creating a well-structured, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
12. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
13. Flexibility: Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs, while maintaining high expectations for all learners.
