Anexciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, caring, enthusiastic anddiligent individual to join the fantastic team in the Cardio RespiratoryClinical Service Unit as a Band 7 Senior Clinical Educator.
TheCardio-respiratory Clinical Service Unit (CSU) comprises of Adult Cardiologyand Cardiac Surgery based at Leeds General Infirmary, and Adult Respiratoryservices based at St James Hospital with a wide range of sub specialityservices on sites within LTHT. Nationally and internationally recognised weprovide a number of secondary care and tertiary services across the Yorkshireregion and beyond.

Main duties of the job
Thepost holder will be a proactive role model who will work across the ClinicalService Unit CSU to support the delivery of excellent patient care andprofessional standards. They will play a lead role in ensuring the developmentof clinical staff both registered and unregistered and be responsible for ateam of clinical educators and ensuring the quality and development of trainingand education across the CSU. Supporting the assessment of thequality of clinical and other practice learning environments and implementinterventions for improvement.
Supporting mentors and assessors andensure clinical professional development for preceptorship and other roledevelopments.
Enhancing the quality of caredelivery from both the registered and unregistered workforce through engagingclinical teams to learn from incidents, audits, PALs and complaints.
Enabling and supporting thedevelopment of interdisciplinary and cross city working to ensure the sharingof good practice and delivery of high quality, effective and efficient care.
Deputising for the Lead Nurse forQuality and Governance during periods of absence or when delegated to do so.
Being clinically competent andmaintain competence in all aspects of nursing care and disseminate specialistknowledge & skills through experience, education, and training.

Thejob holder will play a lead role in ensuring the development of clinical staffboth registered and unregistered. The job holder will enable the development ofclinical practice mentors, assessors and key trainers, providing supervisionthrough onsite support and Trustwide continuous professional developmentactivities. The post holder will be responsible for leading clinical educationand associated resources in their designated clinical areas. The successfulcandidate will provide a high standard of education.

Theywill function as a role model for registered and unregistered staff within theclinical area and Trust, enabling and supporting the development ofinterdisciplinary and cross city working to ensure the sharing of good practiceand delivery of high quality, effective and efficient care.
