We are currently looking for a Production Supervisor to join us at Chippenham. If you want to make a difference and work for a purpose-led company, please read on.
The role
1. To manage the day-day production activities in area of responsibility. This includes health & safety, quality, cost, delivery, and people.
2. To coach and develop individual team members to realise their full potential.
3. To seek opportunities to reduce cost, and to make processes safer and more robust.
4. Manage health & safety. Ensure compliance with all Orbia HSE policy and procedures in own area and across site.
5. Use capability, disciplinary and attendance procedures to manage non-conformance.
6. Reporting (written/verbal) on department KPI performance (daily/weekly/monthly).
7. Ensure production and process recording systems are completed accurately.
8. Ensure any issues are being addressed by the appropriate support function.
9. Use coaching and mentoring to develop individuals and teams to achieve their maximum potential.
10. Use continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques to reduce cost, and to make processes safer and more robust.
11. Being proactive – checking/auditing to ensure procedures are being followed.
12. Undertake employee reviews, team briefs or similar as required.
13. Regularly communicate both formally and informally with employees, the aims, objectives and relevant KPI’s
The profile
14. Basic secondary education is required.
15. ILM level 3 or equivalent is desirable.
16. Production/Operations Supervisor/Management experience. Ideally, across a 24/7 operation.
17. IOSH / NEBOSH qualification.
18. Practical experience of problem-solving techniques, Lean-Six-Sigma/Continuous Improvement.
19. General knowledge of plastic injection moulding and extrusion processes is advantageous but not essential.
20. Reporting on lagging and leading KPI’s.
21. IT literate to use Microsoft Office products. SAP knowledge advantageous.
22. EHS legislation quality processes/procedures – IPPC, ISO-9001, ISO-14001, ISO 45001
