To bolster our efforts and continue to provide high quality, patient focussed services, we are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the respective Spalding and Boston Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT), as part of our Adult Community division. We are looking for a doctor who is passionate and committed to the development of general adult psychiatry and who is able to support the services in delivering compassionate and high-quality services.
The role is full-time at 10PAs per week, split between 6PA Spalding CMHT and 4PA Boston CMHT, with an additional PA as part of recruitment and retention. We are interested in hearing from anyone who is interested in a flexible working pattern, which would include job share, part time and hybrid working. As the role will entail home visits and travel across the county, it is integral that the postholder is able to travel via car, due to limited public transport.
Main duties of the job
1. Assessment of new referrals and attending their formulation meetings.
2. Medical review of patients as agreed in multi-disciplinary meetings.
3. Home visits when required.
4. Attending multidisciplinary case review meetings whenever they are arranged.
5. Attending weekly team meeting/leadership meetings.
6. Attending management and academic meetings
7. Advice to GP's/Liaison Teams/Hospitals (occasional hospital attendance may be required).
8. Preparing reports and attending mental health tribunals for patients on Community Treatment Orders. Currently there are no CTOs on the case load.
9. Reviewing and preparing reports for patients subject to Sec 37/41 of the Mental Health Act 1983.
10. Assisting trust sponsored research projects.
11. Supervision of nurse prescribers.
12. Giving clinical advice to team members as and when needed.
13. Responsibility for assessment of emergencies, including assessment under the Mental Health Act 1983 and Section 136 assessments as part of on-call rota.
14. To provide cover to community consultant colleagues on a mutually agreed basis.
15. Participation in on-call rota.
16. To work within a multi-disciplinary team and facilitate individual care and treatment.
17. To provide, on an agreed reciprocal basis medical cover in the short term absence of other colleagues.

Qualifications
Essential
18. MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
19. Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice
20. Included on the GMC Specialist register, or within 6 months of completing.
21. Approved Clinician status, or able to achieve within 3 months of completing.
22. Approved under Section 12(2) or able to achieve within 3 months of completing.
23. MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
24. DBS clearance

25. Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management
26. Willingness to engage with further training in general adult psychiatry.
27. Additional clinical qualifications.
28. In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
Clinical Skills and Knowledge
Essential
29. Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA
30. Clinical training and experience required for gaining UK CCT, or other alternative routes, such as CESR Fellowship
31. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
32. Widespread and detailed experience of assessment and management of general adult patients.
33. Ability to offer expert clinical independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
34. Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
35. Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service
