The Role
Responsible to the Accountable Manager, and reporting to Mission Solutions GM Ronnie Trasler, the Compliance Manager’s role is to ensure that the mandatory compliance monitoring functions of Nova’s UK CAA approved Maintenance and Production organisation are satisfied. This includes managing the compliance monitoring function and SMS assurance elements of the management system in support of the Nova Systems aerospace integration strategy.
Working with the senior technical leadership team, including the Safety Manager the Compliance Manager will develop the organisation’s capability and range of approvals as necessary to support the business delivery programme. As the compliance monitoring manager, you will be instrumental in supporting the safety management objectives of continual improvement through identification of areas of improvements in technical processes to improve efficiency and compliance and ensuring a coherent product development approach that meets the strategic requirements of the business.
This is part-time role, which we see as being delivered in 20-24 hours a week, we are flexible in how you manage those hours, but there will be times you’ll be required to be on-site in Corsham.

Requirements of the Role
Your responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:
1. Holding the Nominated Personnel position for Nova Systems CAA Part 145 Maintenance and UK CAA Part 21 Subpart G Production Organisation Compliance Monitoring Manager.
2. Ensure the activities of the organisation are monitored for compliance with the applicable requirements and any additional requirements as established by the organisation(s), and that these activities are carried out properly under the supervision of the nominated persons responsible for meeting compliance with the requirements.
3. Regularly monitor the relevant published aeronautical regulations, notifications, alerts and update the compliance monitoring systems Compliance Check List accordingly.
4. Ensure that any maintenance contracted or sub-contracted to another organisation is monitored for compliance with the contract, Interface Agreement or work order as applicable.
5. Ensure that corrections and corrective actions are requested as necessary
6. Process the corrections and corrective action and monitor for implementation, completion and effectiveness.
7. Maintain the company approvals for UK CAA Part 21 Subpart G Production and UK CAA Part 145 and progress other potential approvals or scope increases over time.
8. Implement assurance and quality policies. Strive to deliver excellence in accordance with the Nova Systems’ vision, strategies and SMS objectives. Work with relevant parties to ensure that the Assurance elements of the Safety Managment System (SMS) implementation plan are delivered.
9. Ensure that the Accountable Manager receives feedback on compliance status and findings.
10. Ensure that the Compliance Monitoring Programme and audit plan is properly implemented, maintained, continually reviewed, and improved; to include ad hoc audits.
11. Review the Production Organisation Exposition (POE) Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) Processes and Procedures as required.
12. Approval of new Military Operations Area (MOA) Contractors or Subcontractors, Interface Agreements and Production Organisation Approvals (POA) Suppliers
13. Approval of amendments to Technical Procedures Manual
14. Develop and amend Compliance Monitoring Procedures Manual
15. Amend the POE & MOE when required and notify or seeking approval from the CAA as applicable.
16. Act as point of contact in Mission Solutions for company HSE Management System activities.
17. Attend Safety Committee and Review Board meetings to provide POA & MOA compliance monitoring reports and Subject Matter Expert support.
18. Provide Subject Matter Expert support to the Safety Manager and Incident Investigation as assigned
Essential Skills
19. Eligibility to work in the UK, and due to the nature of our projects, we can only accept applications from NATO-country passport holders
20. Hold an engineering degree from aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionic or other studies relevant to the maintenance and continuing airworthiness of aircraft/aircraft components. Or hold a UK Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence.
21. 5 years relevant work experience of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position.
22. Must meet the requirements of the CAA Fitness of character policy framework and be acceptable to UK CAA as a Nominated Person. (Form 1769 Holder).
23. Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
24. Experienced in Avionic and mission equipment LRU’s and Maintenance inspection, test and repair.
25. Experienced Part 21 Subpart G manufacturing and Inspection of wiring looms and electrical parts and part marking.
26. Excellent knowledge of UK Part 21 & Part 145 regulations.
27. Completed Initial SMS, Human Factors and Electrical Wiring Interconnecting Systems (EWIS) Training. As specified in GM1
28. Excellent English verbal and written (94+ TOEFL Score)
29. High level of ethics and integrity.
30. Flexible, positive and committed team member who works to a very high standard.
31. Confident understanding of regulatory requirements and the ability to provide regulatory guidance to the management team.
32. A sound understanding of commercial principles and business concerns and a proven ability to provide balanced recommendations and decisions between commercial needs and regulatory requirements.
33. A proportional, performance and risk-based oversight management approach.
34. Self-motivated with ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
35. Self-starter with a drive and intellectual curiosity to continuously improve and develop professionally.
Desirable Skills
36. UK Part 66 B2 Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
37. Be familiar with Part ORO (Organisation Requirements for Air Operations) and SPO (Specialised Operations Regulations.)
38. Completed Initial SMS, Human Factors
39. Hold a current UK driver’s license
