Job Description
You would be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing marketing strategies to promote a company's products or services.
You will play a vital role in shaping the brand image, driving sales, and contributing to the overall success of the business.
Key responsibilities:
Developing marketing strategies and plans. Analyse market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor activities to develop comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with the company's objectives.
Working closely with the sales and telesales functions to maximise resources and positively influence sales.
Overseeing marketing campaigns. Supervise the execution of marketing campaigns across various channels, ensuring consistency with the brand image and targeting the intended audience.
Contributing to product/service development and new product/service launches. Collaborate with internal teams, provide insights into market demands, and contribute to the successful launch of new products/services.
Managing budgets and resources. Must be financially savvy, as you will be responsible for budget allocation and ensuring effective use of resources to maximize the impact of marketing initiatives.
Influencing pricing strategies and overall brand awareness. Contribute to pricing strategies based on market analysis.
Promote and build external brand awareness through effective advertising, marketing and communication strategies.
Play a strategic role in aligning marketing efforts with long-term business initiatives and goals to ensure sustained growth and success.
Essential technical skills:
Digital marketing skills. Proficiency in online marketing areas such as social media, email, search engine optimization (SEO), Linkedin sales and profile maintenance, Google Ads and pay-per-click (PPC) are essential. You also need to know how to use digital analytics tools for data-driven decision-making. Website design and maintenance and content management.
Analytical skills. Analyse market trends, customer behaviour, sales and campaign performance. Use data analysis tools to gain actionable insights.
Project management abilities. Strong organizational skills are needed to oversee multiple projects simultaneously. You must have experience in using project management tools to ensure campaigns are on time and successful.
Marketing technology (MarTech) proficiency. Knowledge of marketing automation tools, CRM systems, and other relevant MarTech solutions is key. Additionally, this role requires being adept at using technology for efficient campaign execution and analysis.
Graphic design skills. A basic understanding of graphic design principles is required for content creation and development. Collaboration with internal teams and agencies creates visually appealing marketing materials.
Sales Mentality. You must be commercially aware and align your marketing activities to maximise sales and profits for the company.
Essential soft skills:
Strong communication skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed to present campaigns and collaborate with other teams. The ability to write compelling and clear messaging for a range of diverse audiences is also necessary.
Creativity. The ability to think creatively and develop innovative marketing campaigns creating marketing content that the target audience can relate to. You must be open to new ideas (and old!) and approaches to keep marketing strategies fresh and engaging.
Adaptability. You must have the flexibility to adapt to changing market trends, consumer behaviour, and industry dynamics. Additionally, you need the ability to pivot strategies based on any changes in the industry.
Leadership skills. This role involves guiding and inspiring the rest of the team. Marketing managers use collaboration to foster teamwork and maximize the potential of the team and the marketing efforts.
Problem-solving. You will identify challenges and come up with solutions that work. Think one step ahead to address any potential issues that may arise.
These skills will help a marketing manager navigate the complexities of the role and drive successful marketing outcomes.
Educational background and work experience
A bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or a related discipline.
Ideally, a master's degree in marketing or renewables, is good to have but isn’t mandatory.
Five or more years of experience in a similar marketing role.
Experience in the renewable energy sector would be advantageous, especially solar or similar industry.
