We have an exciting opportunity to join the AB Finance Costing Team.
This is a 6 month secondment to cover an internal secondment.

The Finance Manager PLICS has responsibility for managing the Health Board's Patient Level Costing System, developing the existing costing data and engaging with managers and clinicians to ensure PLICS is utilised effectively in ABUHB. The period of the secondment will cover the implementation of a replacement costing system across Wales and the post holder will lead on this project.
Applicants should be qualified accountants with substantial costing experience who can demonstrate successful delivery of projects and service improvement.
Main duties of the job
The Costing team are responsible for the development of the Health Board's Patient Level Information and Costing System (PLICS), which brings together patient activity with financial data. It provides a rich source of information to help understand how NHS resources are used. The role will require working with a wide range of stakeholders across both Finance and Clinical Services. This is a diverse and rewarding role that will allow you to help improve our patient services, financial sustainability and assist professionals in key decision-making
Strong communication and presentation skills are as important as analytical ability, as the role will need to build relationships both within and outside the organisation, alongside interpreting complex output, and providing advice to a wide range of information users.
The post holder will be expected to lead a small team in delivering the implementation of a replacement costing system, liaising across Wales with other HBs and the NHS Wales Executive.

The post will be responsible for the ongoing management of the HBs patient level costing system (PLICS).
The post holder is responsible for ensuring PLICS information is accessible across ABUHB through developing and maintaining regular reporting and Business Intelligence.
The post holder will be responsible for developing existing costing data to enhance the data quality and processes of patient level costing information in ABUHB.
The role will have responsibility for ensuring PLICS is part of the wider ABUHB value based agenda, engaging with clinicians to develop pilot projects that link to outcome and value.
They will have responsibility for managing the Costing IT infrastructure and developing and maintaining a sustainable plan for costing IT, to ensure an efficient, effective and resilient service is provided across ABUHB. This will include the implementation of a replacement costing system.
The Finance Manager is responsible for the line management of a team of Costing Analysts.
