Due to retirement, a rare opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Services Manager to join our team at Scarborough Hospital.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic electrical engineer to take on this critical role within the Estates Department. You will need to enjoy working flexibly, responding to varying demands and changing circumstances. Communication and strong team leadership are essential qualities to succeed in this role. You will require advanced technical and professional engineering knowledge of electrical systems as used within healthcare settings.
You will be responsible for the operational leadership and management of maintenance technical teams to maximise effectiveness, utilisation and functionality of staff resources, equipment and materials. You will provide specialist management, advice and support on hospital engineering installations including Low and High Voltage electrical plant and equipment.

Main duties of the job
The Electrical Services Manager will act as the lead Authorised Person (AP) for Low and High voltage systems and LOLER. They will ensure that all appropriate legislation and national NHS guidance (HTM's and HBN's) is followed in these disciplines to maintain compliance.
The post holder will coordinate the activity of other AP's and ensure that all junior members of the team are suitably trained and appointed annually as competent/skilled persons; produce monthly productivity and exception reports for their area of control, ensuring the department continually strives to improve; oversee the installation of new equipment and ensure it meets the standards contained within national guidance documents and is environmentally sustainable.
The role will deputise for the Head of Estates in their absence and will be an active member of the Estates Management On-Call rota, providing management and technical support where required to junior members of the team.
