Job Title: 1-1 Teaching Assistant (SEMH School)

About the Role:
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated 1-1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 8 student in an SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school based in the Wirral. This role requires a nurturing and understanding individual with experience working with students with special educational needs. As a key support figure, you will help create a stable, safe environment for the student, encouraging their engagement and fostering their emotional and academic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored 1-1 support to a Year 8 student with SEMH and additional learning needs.
* Create a nurturing, supportive environment where the student feels safe, respected, and able to engage in their learning.
* Work closely with the student to understand their unique needs and develop personalized strategies to encourage positive development.
* Collaborate with the teaching team to implement effective learning plans and behavioural strategies.
* Support the student’s social and emotional well-being, helping them develop coping skills and build resilience.
What We're Looking For:
* Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly in an SEMH setting, is highly desirable.
* A nurturing, patient, and understanding personality with strong interpersonal skills.
* The ability to build a trusting, positive relationship with the student, offering consistent encouragement and support.
* Resilience and adaptability, with a calm and professional approach to managing behaviour and emotional challenges.
* An immediate start is required for this position, so flexibility and readiness are essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
