Our specialist SEN Branch in Swansea are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work with pupils with Autism and Sensory Impairments. The pupils are mainly KS3 and will need support in each class they attend. Due to the nature of the pupils you would be working with we feel someone who is experienced would be a more suitable fit. The pupils can display challenging behaviour but the school are very supportive and will ensure you know of any triggers before starting.
As TA, your responsibilities will include:
* Working closely with pupils with Autism and challenging behaviour
* Delivering bespoke interventions
* Changing some lessons to suit the needs of the pupils
* Encouraging learning and engagement in school
* De-escalating challenging behaviour and being aware of triggers
A successful candidate will be:
* Flexible and adaptable in work situations
* Caring and compassionate
* Able to work in a challenging environment
* Confident in managing challenging behaviour
* Willing to complete any training and CPD necessary for the role

This will be a temporary role to begin with, however there is the opportunity for a permanent placement pending a successful trial period.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
