Position: SEN Teacher
Location: Poole
Salary: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum
Start Date: November 2024
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to deliver specialised support and education to students with complex needs, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role is central to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive both academically and personally. Working closely with support staff, you will play a key role in planning and delivering tailored lessons, using positive behaviour strategies, and helping pupils engage fully in school life.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver adaptive lessons to meet the individual needs of students with ASD and additional learning requirements.
* Establish a calm, structured classroom environment, implementing behaviour strategies effectively to support positive learning outcomes.
* Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families to create comprehensive education plans.
* Promote students’ social and emotional development through one-on-one support and group activities in line with the school’s core values.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Previous experience teaching in an SEN setting, ideally with a focus on ASD support.
* A compassionate, resilient approach, with the skills to engage and inspire students with additional needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
* A thorough understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to pupil welfare.
Essential Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Right to work in the UK, an updated CV with two recent references, and an enhanced DBS registered with the update service (or willingness to apply).
