Finance Officer, International Development Organisation, £30-35k

About the Role:
We’re seeking a Finance Officer to manage financial operations, focusing on accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end close routines. You’ll ensure compliance with financial procedures, support project teams, and contribute to smooth financial operations across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Purchase & Sales Ledgers: Maintain and manage ledgers, responding to supplier and customer queries.
* Invoice Processing: Process supplier invoices, staff expenses, and credit claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Payments & Receivables: Schedule and authorise electronic payments, raise and monitor invoices, and chase overdue payments.
* Bank Reconciliations: Perform bank account reconciliations and complete quarterly control account reconciliations.
* Month-End & Year-End Close: Assist with month-end routines, prepare journals, relevant spreadsheets, and support annual audit processes.
* Financial Reporting: Ensure all transactions are accurately coded and input into SAGE, preparing reports as required.
* Advice & Support: Provide financial advice, assisting teams to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance.
About You:
* Qualifications: Part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA) or Qualified AAT, with solid financial management experience in international development settings.
* Experience: Proficient in accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close routines.
* Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in SAGE or similar accounting systems.
* Knowledge: Familiarity with donor compliance, statutory reporting standards, and international financial regulations.
