To provide medical engineering support to the Equipment Department for equipment used on emergency and non-emergency vehicles. This post involves working with other colleagues across NEASUS to ensure vehicles and any associated equipment are ready for service.
To assist in the management, repair, test, and calibration of medical equipment, ensuring it is in safe working order. Provide advice and information to clinical and non-clinical staff on the use of medical equipment and devices.
Responsibilities include:
1. Provision of a repair service for unscheduled maintenance.
2. Adherence to a scheduled maintenance service plan for all medical equipment.
3. Provision of a commissioning service for all new equipment.
4. Maintain accurate records of the status of all equipment.
5. Maintain medical equipment in compliance with safety regulations, procedures, policies, and manufacturers' recommendations, ensuring an efficient and effective medical equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement service.
6. Undertake calibration of all medical equipment which measures values or which provides readings including but not limited to: ventilators, regulators, flowmeters, pulse oximeters, sphygmomanometers, and aspirators.
7. Install and maintain oxygen pipelines in ambulance vehicles and on portable medical gas equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
8. Report equipment that needs to be calibrated.
9. Deal with crew members/members of the public.
