Hardware/Electronic Engineer

Position Summary and Responsibilities:
This position is open to mid–senior levels of experience. Work includes both the design and testing of cameras required to characterise and verify the performance of our projects.
The Engineer will be working in cross-functional teams, reporting to Project Managers and Project Lead Engineers, to ensure project requirements are met and verified in line with the defined project plan. The engineer will also ensure our capabilities are maintained at the cutting edge and are aligned with our development roadmaps.
Key responsibilities:
* Complete PCB design, comprising component selection, schematic capture, analysis, documentation, description of the stack-up, and management of external layout activities, for space applications.
* Developing and presenting thoughts and designs that satisfy requirements, motivated by needs from both internal and external customers. Maintain and update the matrix for compliance verification with electrical standards.
* Using interface diagrams and charts to capture the intricate system architecture and enhance lifecycle documentation in order to pass gate reviews and advance development quickly.
* Assembling and presenting the required internal and external gate review paperwork pertaining to the electrical design. It will be required of the engineer to communicate with all parties involved in a clear and efficient manner.
* The chosen applicant will be expected to take the lead in advancing the department's capabilities; for more seasoned candidates, this will involve coaching and developing the team's engineers.
* Taking the initiative to test and verify electronics and to prepare the related paperwork in an organised and understandable manner.
* For seasoned candidates, it helps to have a solid grasp of the engineering lifecycle necessary for high-reliability electronics and to follow pertinent standards.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Knowledge of PCB design approaches required when dealing with High-speed circuitry.
Ability to create electronic designs that are innovative and add value to new and existing test systems.
Demonstration of working to standards for high reliability.
Strong and in-depth understanding of electronics and electrical interfaces.
Ability to convey technical data and complex electrical designs in an easy-to-understand format.
