1. Take ownership and responsibility of technical topics to ensure delivery of projects, on time, cost & quality.
2. Take the lead on design decisions become a design authority.
3. Generating and managing requirement through all project phases.
4. Provide systems architecture design. Defining block diagrams for highly complex hardware & software systems.
5. Design and development of electronics and hardware architecture for complex robotic products.
6. Provide electronics design expertise & technical support for portfolio of garden power tools.
7. Close collaboration with all key stakeholder though all development phases from concept to production.
8. Mentoring and supporting engineers within the team and wider business.
9. Support series production and solve problems with robust and cost effective solutions.
10. Understand and implement legislative compliance for target customer regions.
11. Contribute to and develop electrical test plans for complex systems.
12. Lead risk management and mitigation within electronics discipline. DFMEA, PFMEA.
13. Foster and manage positive relations with external stakeholders such as consulted body, Manufactures, Suppliers etc.
14. Generate single fault analysis for CB certification and type approvals.
15. Consult with internal and external certification and compliance expertise to generate appropriate compliance arguments for products.
16. Good attention to detail with excellent organisational skills and the desire to drive towards success.
17. Analytical mindset with ability analyse existing designs against standards and safety criterion.
18. Must possess the ability to communicate clearly at all levels. Create presentations, diagrams, collate date and deliver content aimed suitable for the target audience.
19. Understand, follow and promote company practices on good housekeeping, safety, health, environment and quality.
20. Outstanding teamwork and desire for inclusivity at all levels.
Qualifications
21. Degree in Electronic Engineering discipline. Master or would be an advantage.
22. Ideally minimum 5 years’ experience of electronic engineering experience with proven track record for delivery.
23. Excellent skills in reading and understanding schematic and PCB designs.
24. Use of system engineering and design tools such as CodeBeamer, Doors, Jira, Git, MATLAB, Altium, Arduino, PIC ST etc..
25. Some coding knowledge in C, Python etc. is desirable.
26. In depth knowledge of motor technology, including brushed and brushless topologies.
27. First principles design understanding of analogue and digital electronics circuits and sub-systems.
28. Experience with Multicore Microprocessor systems (MiniPC). HDI, DDR4, MIPI, EMMC, CAN etc.
29. Experience in VSLAM hardware implementation is desirable.
30. Expertise in functional safety and critical safety systems for design.
31. Good understanding of the state of the art in IoT sectors.
32. Ability to take ideas and make them designs.
33. Good hands on practical skills, soldering, prototyping etc.
34. Knowledge of test instrumentation and analysis techniques
35. EMC test techniques and knowledge of EMC design best practice.
36. Knowledge of Lithium battery technology and including charging and protection.
