Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Cadley Hill is looking to recruit a Senior Buyer based at Cadley Hill, Swadlincote, Derbyshire. Reporting to the Purchasing Value Stream Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and ordering of both direct and indirect product, managing suppliers performance, ensuring deliveries are on time in full, and escalating issues to the Purchasing VSM and wider business as necessary. Also the successful candidate will be responsible for building good rapport with both internal and external stakeholders whilst also ensuring all necessary administration is completed, whilst adhering to and supporting all system requirements for ISO 14001 and AS9100 (Aerospace Approval Authorities).
Tasks and Responsibilities
* Manage a selection of direct and indirect suppliers, facilitating the timely delivery of goods to site, whilst also reporting on their Key Performance Indicators to ensure their consistent performance
* Expediting orders whilst using negotiation techniques to improve lead times where necessary
* Sourcing product and obtaining quotes when new/alternative materials are required.
* Working closely with the production and planning teams to ensure all material needs are met to ensure sales targets and delivery dates are met
* General supply chain administration tasks such as raising purchase orders and solving invoicing queries
* Achieve/Exceed budgeted annual Purchasing Excellence Savings
* Mitigate price increases
* Purchase Order Management
* Accurate MRP data maintenance is essential
* Coach & Support Junior Team members as necessary
* Maintain activities for current KPI reports and development of new KPIs as required.
Education and Experience
* Experience of working in a Senior Buyer role within a manufacturing environment, aerospace or automotive experience preferred but not essential..
* CIPs qualified or 5 plus years or relevant working experience
* Strong Computer literacy with experience of MRP systems
