The purpose of this role is to develop, implement and maintain Materials and Processes within the Engineering
department including, but not limited to, the associated management of Material and Process specifications.
The role is across the Design and Manufacturing teams with an aim to support design for manufacture and design for cost for products. You will be responsible for timely release of Engineering data applicable to products, processes and equipment. Also providing the necessary expertise and support to the Design office and wider Engineering team for new product development and existing projects.

In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.
You will be required to:-
Be a Subject Matter Expert on key topics relating to engineering Materials & Processes, support the engineering team educating the team on new material and processes in accordance to engineering plans and industry standards
Assist with redaction and management of material and process specification in his/her competency domain
Provide technical support through his/her competency domain, in dealing with material and process non-conformities via appraisal of the parts which have presented a failure in test or in use
Manage the obsolescence issues relating to materials and processes and ensure that alternative M&P commodities are qualified in time to support customer requests
Candidate skills:
HND / 2:1 Bachelors (Honours) degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
MEng or PhD with specialism in aerospace discipline
Demonstrable working experience in industry or research work at an educational institution
Experience of working to industry standards and codes
Experience with the design and manufacture of metals
