We are recruiting to our popular and varied band 5 Occupational Therapy Rotation - This is a permanent position.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and develop skills and knowledge, in a supportive environment.
The rotation gives experience of work in the following clinical specialities, Rotations cover our 3 hospital sites (Pinderfields, Pontefract and Dewsbury) and community settings. This post will give opportunity to gain experience in the following areas.
1. Trauma / Orthopaedics / Amputees
2. Elderly complex care
3. Respiratory
4. Surgery
5. Intermediate care MY Therapy Team
6. Spinal injuries
7. A & E / acute assessment and frailty
8. Hand Therapy
9. Neurology
10. Burns
11. Children's Therapy
The services cover 7 days, a flexible approach is required to meet the challenges in each clinical speciality where you would be assigned to an experienced clinical practitioner for regular supervision and support as well as working within experienced and well-established teams. We offer preceptorship support throughout your first year of practice.

Main duties of the job
To undertake Occupational Therapy assessmentsfor a designated caseload,
To understand and apply the Occupational Therapyprocess in order to effectively self-manage a designated caseload within arotational area, addressing occupational performance and skill deficits,enabling the patient in components of self-care, productivity and leisure.
To be responsible for the organisation,implementation, and evaluation of assessments to facilitate safeand timely discharge of individuals.
To develop skills andknowledge through participation in the diverse rotational scheme, working within inpatients, outpatients and community settings.

Job responsibilities
To be professionally and legally accountable for allaspects of own practice including the management of individuals in your care.
To understand and apply the Occupational Therapyprocess in order to effectively self manage a designated caseload within arotational area, addressing occupational performance and skill deficits,enabling the patient in components of self care, productivity and leisure.
To know the professional and personal scope ofown practice and make referrals to other agencies.
To demonstrate knowledge and understanding ofthe key concepts of biological, physical, social, psychological and clinicalsciences in relation to occupational performance relevant to the rotationplacement.
To utilise a range of standard and non-standardOccupational Therapy assessments andtechniques in areas of occupational performance (work, leisure, personal,domestic, environment) and skill deficits.
To be able to use research, clinical reasoningand problem solving skills including activity analysis to identify thetherapeutic benefit of client centered interventions and make professionaljudgements and implement evidence based practice.
To be able to formulate and implement specificand appropriate management plans with individuals including the setting of timescales.
To plan facilitate and implement a range ofgroup interventions according to patient need.
To analyse and evaluate the Occupational Therapyprocess and adapt intervention as appropriate.
To be responsible for the assessment andprescription of minor adaptations and equipment to facilitate independence.
To undertake visits and/or assessments in avariety of settings as required by the need of the rotation placement,including the ward, department, home or other community environments.
Using knowledge, carry out a variety of physicalinterventions that require physical and manual dexterity.
