We are looking for a 30hrs per week part-time Experienced medical receptionist to join ourfriendly medical practice located in Halesowen. The successful candidate willneed to provide a first-class level of admin/reception and customer service toour patients and enjoy working in a reception environment.
The role is demandingbut rewarding as we are a busy GP practice serving approx 9,600 patients, forthis reason you will need to to possess excellent communication, timemanagement and multi-tasking skills
Main duties of the job
Provide general assistance to thePractice team and project a positive and friendly image to the patients andother visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Deal with all general enquires,explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.
Using your own judgement andcommunication skills ensure that patients with no prior appointment but needurgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner.
Explain practice arrangements andformal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover andensure procedures are complete.
Enter patient information on thecomputer clinical system as required.

Job responsibilities
5. Ensure an efficient reception service is provided to patients and visitors to the practice
6. Deal with general enquiries, explain procedures and make new/follow up appointments
7. Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy and appropriate delivery
8. Liaise with GPs/Nurses and carry out tasks as requested
9. Other regular duties: Action prescriptions, Chaperone patients (training provided), keep up to date with changes in policy and procedure, advise patients of payments for private services, process payments, computer data entry, filing medical records
10. Premises: Open up premises at the start of the day. When last to leave at the end of the day, ensure that the building is totally secured
11. Facilitate communication between patients and members of the primary healthcare team, secondary care and other associated agencies.
12. Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as required by the Partners, Practice Manager Team or Reception Team Leader.
