Job summary
A rare and exciting opportunity is available for an exceptional Midwife and educator to join the Practice Education Team as a Practice Placement Facilitator. This senior role is key in ensuring the trust is the best place to work and train, by supporting practice placement learning, growing our future midwifery workforce and working with our University partners. You will supporting students on all midwifery programmes.
Main duties of the job
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape thecreation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This meansdemonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables andempowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams/departments and across organisational boundaries.
You will also maintain your clinical dexterity and credibility by working as a midwife within all clinical midwifery services.

To lead the provision of high quality NMAHP (Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals) practice placements, ensuring Trust student capacity is able to meet both the trust future workforce need and NMAHP regional programmes demand.
To manage the quality of the clinical midwifery learning environments by taking a lead role in placement audit and evaluation; provides support, educational input and development activities for educators / supervisors and learners alike. To provide innovative solutions to practice education challenges.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
1. 1st Level Registered Nurse / Midwife or Allied Health Professional.
2. Degree in a relevant subject and ability to work at Masters level through experience
3. Evidence of qualification to undertake the supervision, teaching and assessing of learners in practice.
Desirable
4. Masters degree Post graduate qualification in education Leadership course
Other Requirements

5. It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes.
Experience and Knowledge

6. Previous experience in a senior nursing / Midwifery / AHP role in a clinical area as student / learner assessor
7. Demonstrate a good understanding of national, political and professional agenda and its application in practice
8. Significant demonstrable experience of supporting learners in the practice environment
9. Evidence of change management and practice development

10. Experience of working across teams / organisations and boundaries
11. Knowledge of the interface between education providers and healthcare professionals
12. Knowledge of the principles of preregistration professional education
