Role: Senior Quality and Governance Officer
Salary: £42,000 to £48,000 (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full Time (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday (9am to 5pm)
Location: On-Site, Stratford, Broadway House, E15 1EP
Reporting to: Quality and Governance Manager/Academic Registrar
Purpose of the Role:
The Senior Quality and Governance Officer is a newly created position at William College, demonstrating its dedication to providing an outstanding student experience and fostering strong governance practices.
The role is a full-time position based at the Stratford campus.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* High level of responsibility in line managing the Quality team and strong collaboration with partner universities.
* Lead the development and implementation of the Quality and Standards Framework and Governance Framework.
* Assist in ensuring compliance with the Office for Students (OfS) Regulatory Framework. Carry out any duties assigned by the Quality and Governance Manager and Academic Registrar.
* Ensure relevant policies and key documents are up to date with relevant legislation and the OfS.
* Lead or assist William College’s schedule for Quality Assurance such as programme approval, programme review, module evaluation, continuous improvement, external examiners, and student experience surveys and take the lead in at least one of these processes.
* Service an allocation of committees e.g. writing agendas, collating papers, collaborating with the Chairs, writing formal minutes and ensuring that actions are completed.
* Develop expert knowledge of internal quality assurance and governance mechanisms and provide advice to colleagues as appropriate.
* Develop expert knowledge of national regulation and advisory bodies such as the Office for Students, Quality Assurance Agency, Competition and Markets Authority, Advance HE etc.
* Write guidance documents on various themes to non-expert audiences and contribute to the writing of committee papers.
* Develop the use of qualitative and quantitative data in monitoring the performance of William College’s academic portfolio.
* The SQGO will be a professional, organised individual, capable of managing their workload, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills, and handling sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
* All staff are expected to follow William College policies and engage in performance review
About You:
We are looking for someone who has:
* Senior Officer or Managerial level of experience in Higher Education setting or similar.
* Good knowledge of external legislation, regulation, guidance in relation to Higher Education.
* Demonstrable leadership skills in a previous role.
* A Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or significant work experience relevant to the role.
* Advanced knowledge of ICT software including Word, Excel, Adobe Pro, PowerPoint.
* Experience in servicing meetings including writing agendas, writing papers, minute writing, following up on actions.
* Experience in working independently to strict deadlines.
* Experience of one or more HE QA procedures such as programme approval, annual programme review, student surveys.
* A high attention to detail.
* (Desirable) Experience in writing documents on complex issues for a variety of audiences.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to present complex information in simple language.
