I am a 19-year-old male who lives at home with my family. I have cerebral Palsy affecting all four limbs, severe dystonia with a profound learning disability. I am registered CVI blind, and I am nonverbal.
I have a wonderful family and two Personal Assistants who support me with my 24hour care needs. My team support me within the home, to access the community as well as supporting me with therapy needs. I live in my family home with my Mum, Dad, and siblings which I would like you to be respectful off, which will be returned by my family.
I am looking for additional team members to join and become my Personal Assistants with a caring, patient nature to join my team and get to know me, understanding my complex needs and ways of communicating as well as respecting my family home.
You will be supported to get to know my unique set of requirements, covering all aspects of personal and medical care supporting with PEG feeding, medication, mobility and communication, as well as simply getting to know me at my own pace and supporting me to remain happy and safe.
You will be required to get to know myself and the team- through meetings, shadowing, and a bespoke training programme. You will receive all mandatory training and specialised training annually.
ABOUT YOU
You will need to be a calm, friendly and fun, flexible and unphased by my health needs and situations which you may need to support me with.I require 1:1 support to ensure I remain safe and well whilst supporting me with my complex needs and daily tasks.
