The opportunity As Electrical Product Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing our product range, leading with your electrical engineering knowledge and expertise. You will ensure our designs meet industry standards and compliance regulations such as EN60335 and work to 18th Edition BS7671. Compliance and operating within regulations will be second nature to you, as you will be experienced in delivering and developing products from design, prototype, to their final stages of certification. Key areas of accountability: Electrical Product Design: Develop and refine designs for white goods, domestic appliances, and HVAC products. New Product Introduction (NPI): Manage the entire lifecycle of new products, from concept and prototyping to final launch. Compliance & Certification: Ensure products meet industry standards, such as EN60335 or equivalent, and achieve necessary certifications. 18th Edition Compliance: Apply knowledge of BS7671 standards to ensure safety and compliance in designs. Prototyping & Testing: Build and test prototypes to validate designs and performance. Electrical Wiring: Hands-on experience with wiring to produce functional, safe products. Programming & PLCs: Utilize programming skills and work with PLCs to enhance product functionality, with an understanding of software coding. What you will need: Proven experience in electrical product design, particularly with white goods, domestic appliances, or HVAC products and systems. Hands-on experience managing New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. Managing the product life cycle from product and concept development through to product accreditation, manufacture and sale. Certification in 18th Edition BS7671 (essential). Knowledge and experience with compliance standards such as EN60335 or other international equivalent. Proficiency in electrical wiring and associated safety protocols. Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C++ and Python and PLCs.
