Job description
Test Technician - NPI
Our client, a leading global manufacturing company in the field of precision power conversion and control solutions, is seeking a Test Technician - NPI to join their team on a contract basis. With a focus on electronics testing and fault finding, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of electronic equipment.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform various production assembly operations on electronic components and sub-assemblies.
2. Utilise test procedures, drawings, schematics, and verbal/written instructions to test and troubleshoot units.
3. Work on semi-routine assignments, recognising nonconformity's and ensuring adherence to production schedules.
4. Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and team members.
5. Adhere to all safety requirements in the workplace.
6. Maintain fixturing, perform calibration, and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
7. Work under limited supervision, contributing to the training of other employees and initiating corrective actions.
8. Ensure tasks are performed accurately and completely.
9. Effectively cross-train on multiple product platforms.
10. Contribute to process improvements, lead time reduction, and cost-saving initiatives.
Qualifications:
11. Previous experience in electrical circuits and assemblies testing preferred.
12. Proven ability to be flexible and adapt in a team environment.
13. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and 5S concepts.
14. Intermediate computer knowledge, including AE Nexus, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
15. Proficiency in pertinent SAP applications.
16. Minimum of two years' experience in electronic testing and troubleshooting (or equivalent).
17. Experience in designing, developing, and implementing new test fixturing.
18. Knowledge and understanding of ESD practices.
19. HNC or Electrical Electronics Degree.
