A compassionate and hard working Class Teaching Assistant is needed for a Pupil Referral Unit in the Northumberland area for pupils of age 6-14. This is a long term role to start asap. The school also requires a TA to work in a Literacy Intervention role. The school was rated ‘Good’ in it’s last Ofsted. Suitable candidates will preferably have experience of working with students who have SEMH/behavioural issues and or other SEND needs (e.g. ADHD, Autism, ADD). You will need to be proactive in your approach to working with students from challenging backgrounds and be encouraging, energetic, engaging and supportive.
You must hold a Teaching Assistant or Youth Work qualification and have a background working with SEMH and/ or a willingness to work with children with disadvantaged backgrounds who struggle to adapt to mainstream schools.
