POSITION SUMMARY
This role is responsible for performing medium to highly complex software integration, design and programming, trial runs and investigative tests. In addition, this role partners with the Project Manager and/or Sr. Engineering Specialist to support financial results of assigned projects including: costs, project billings, and collections.
What you’ll do:
* Performs medium to highly complex software integration, design and programming, trial runs and investigative tests.
* Facilitates product and service training to customers. Provides and documents feedback on problem evaluation and resolution to project leaders. Coordinates, implements and/or performs technical product support for building automation systems that have been newly installed.
* Attends pre-booking meetings to gain knowledge of the sales estimate and project scope. Analyzes plans, specifications, and contracts to determine system requirements. Selects products, sizes, types, and location placement to ensure products meet specification requirements.
* Participates in sales to operations turnover meetings to evaluate accuracy of the sales estimate and job layout.
* Designs and creates all custom software programs, point database and graphics that are used with the BAS, workstations and website interfaces.
* Executes project start-ups, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of installed BAS controls and mechanical systems on assigned projects.
* Participates in the layout and coordination of network drops, IP addresses and monitoring tools with customer's IT Department personnel.
What you’ll need to be successful:
* Associates/Vocational Degree in HVAC/Building Automation Controls - required or
* Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in a related field (Engineering, Construction Management, etc.) -preferred. Will accept equivalent experience in lieu of a formal degree on a case-by-case basis.
* 3-7 years of relevant technical hands-on experience in systems programming and commissioning of digital HVAC controls systems (DDC)
* Tridium Niagara N4 certification strongly desired. Delta Controls certification is a big plus but not required.
* Strong working knowledge in HVAC mechanical and/or Electrical systems.
* Working knowledge of computers, networks and MS Suite software products, specifically Excel.
* Advanced troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
* Advanced knowledge of a technical or specialty area.
* AutoCAD and/or some drafting experience preferred.
* Strong working knowledge of temperature control theory and HVAC/Building Automation systems.
* Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
* Knowledge of project accounting, costing principles and contracting preferred.
