Role Purpose
Working to strict safety and quality requirements, help to achieve daily production requirements in terms of quality and quantity to meet customer expectations and requirements, optimising efficiency and maintaining operational excellence. Perform many operations within the process with some supervision.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Become fully conversant with all necessary procedures for the handling of the finished product, to satisfy predetermined production schedule and requirements.
2. Carry out all functions required for recording, packaging and storage of products to the current British Standard Specifications in force.
3. Identify all products produced with labels provided and ensure all labels are signed and dated by operative.
4. Ensure products are to the correct tolerances and meet customer and internal standards and specifications.
5. Report any visible defects on the product to the Machine Setter or Supervisor.
6. Assist the Machine Setter as and when required.
7. Pack goods with protective materials ready for shipment.
8. Bale, cut and dispose of scrap material as directed.
9. Remove all products from the production area and stack goods appropriately in the designated building areas outside the factory.
10. Ensure that work area is not vacated until relief operator has been provided.
11. Carry out general duties as directed by the Production Supervisor when machine minders duties are not available.
12. Maintain work area in a tidy and safe condition at all times.
13. Adhere to all time keeping and clocking procedures.
14. Maintain and adhere to all company Health & Safety standards.
15. Carry out cleaning of work areas and machinery.
16. Report equipment faults to maintenance staff.
17. Make quality control checks on products.
18. Seal containers using appropriate materials such as glue, staples or shrink-wrap.
19. Contribute to continuous improvement activities.

Hours of Work
Continental shifts: 2 weeks days and 2 weeks off (7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am).
