Individual will need to pass enhanced DBS / security checks. Schedule Monday – Friday Flexible working, able to work from home, visit the office (Selby) on a regular basis for meetings etc, and drive to client sites. Clients are predominantly Yorkshire and North West England. However some UK travel is required, overnight stays where necessary. 25 days holiday bank holidays. Essential Competencies · Degree-level qualification in sustainability / environmental management / environment science / business and the environment. · Strong writing, analytical and reading skills. · Able to use of Microsoft Office suite. · Full UK driving license. · Delivery of projects to time and budget. · Able to work within a small team environment, and manage own projects and workload once issued. · Self-motivated and organised. · Excellent communication skills. Individual will need to speak, train and engage with range of staff at client sites at different levels e.g. shop floor, engineers, managers and directors. · Interest in Sustainability and helping organisations implement their own sustainability projects. Desirable Competencies (Not Essential) · Carbon accounting knowledge. · Conducted an environmental, carbon or energy audit previously. · Written a Sustainability Policy / Strategy. · Presentation / Public Speaking experience. · Familiarity with ISO Standards (predominantly ISO 14001 and ISO 50001) Description ESL would like to recruit a Graduate into a Sustainability Consultant role. ESL already offers sustainability-related services to a range of small and global organisations. These services are predominantly delivered by the Managing Director (MD), and an additional member of staff is needed to support this work. The role will be focussed in the following areas: · Helping organisations to draft and implement their own Sustainability Policy, with relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress. · Deliver internal audits for clients who have Environmental Management Systems in place, against the requirements of ISO 14001, and support clients to make any improvements. This includes writing of audit reports. · Develop Carbon Footprints for organisations, Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3. · Be willing to learn how to complete product carbon footprints. · Support organisations to implement ISO 14001 and ISO 14068 (Carbon Neutrality). · Advise clients in how to reduce their energy consumption and improve efficiencies. Visit client sites to conduct energy audits to identify energy using plant and equipment. · Any other reasonable request in the field of energy and environment within the role’s competency. · Support colleagues in the delivery of projects for larger clients. Relevant training will be provided in all areas, which is a combination of internal training with ESL team members; external accredited courses; and online Continuing Professional Development (CPD). In the first year of employment, individual will likely be expected to complete the following courses: · BSI ISO 14001 or ISO 50001 Lead Auditor. · Relevant level of training to join Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). · Carbon Footprints Scope 1 and Scope 2 (numerous providers). · GHG Protocol online Scope 3 training.
