The NHS Business Services Authority is an Arm`s Length Body of the Department of Health and Social Care. They manage over £35 billion of NHS spend annually delivering a range of national services to NHS organisations, Contractors, patients, and members of the public.
Position: EIBSS Assessor
Contract: 6 months with the possibility of progression to FTA
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Office Hours (37 hours per week)
Hourly Rate: £11.67 per hour
About the Role:
Are you detail-oriented, empathetic, and passionate about making a positive impact? We are seeking an EIBSS Assessor to join our team in supporting beneficiaries of the England Infected Blood Scheme (EIBSS). In this role, you will examine and interpret confidential applications for support, working closely with medical experts to ensure fair and accurate outcomes. You will also manage sensitive enquiries from beneficiaries and medical professionals through various communication methods.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess applications from EIBSS beneficiaries accurately and fairly, ensuring all necessary information is gathered.
Calculate entitlements for beneficiaries, working closely with finance to ensure timely and accurate payments.
Maintain accurate records of assessments, statistics, and data as required for reporting purposes.
Respond to beneficiary complaints and queries, both written and verbal, providing clear and professional communication.
Manage your workload effectively, meeting internal performance targets and ensuring compliance with service standards and data protection.
Handle technical queries from beneficiaries and liaise with external organisations such as medical professionals and advisory services.
Tailor communications to the individual needs of beneficiaries, ensuring high levels of customer service.
Use your initiative to make informed decisions, with support from your manager or technical experts when required.
Perform other administrative tasks such as opening post, processing applications, and supporting the team as needed.
Requirements:
Strong attention to detail and ability to assess complex information.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on customer service.
Ability to manage your workload independently, working within agreed time-lines and policies.
Experience with handling confidential and sensitive information.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other office systems.
Commitment to working in a diverse and inclusive environment.
You must have a suitable space for a home working environment including a desk and chair
Although hybrid working, you are expected to attend the office for meetings, team events, development sessions and 1 to 1 meetings where it is deemed necessary.
