We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Analytical Scientist to join our client's Quality Control Department. This on-site role is critical within our client's Quality Control function. The Analytical Technician will be responsible for the testing and releasing of antigens and raw materials needed for vaccine production.
This is a full-time temporary contract role for 12 months with a possible extension, working onsite in Milton Keynes. The role offers a pay rate of up to £16 per hour, depending on experience, plus 25 days holiday and other benefits.
Key Accountabilities and Duties:
1. Perform analytical antigen full testing
2. Perform raw material testing
3. Work alongside your team members and team lead to meet release deadlines
4. Perform sampling of raw materials
5. Ensure samples follow the correct processing
6. Review and file documentation
7. Ensure timely review of all data results from tests performed, identifying any invalid or atypical results.
8. Perform COSHH, MA, RA assessments
9. Responsible for the quality of data
10. Work in a diverse and inclusive environment
11. Identify areas of improvement that promote efficiency and safety
12. Perform safety assessments
13. Ensure lab is maintained at the correct standard.
14. Support Biological potency testing 2 days a week or more when required
Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
Essential:
1. Experience with titration testing
2. At least 2 years of experience
3. Reagent Preparation
4. Attention to detail and concentration skills
5. Positive attitude and motivation to perform work independently
6. Experience with pipetting
Desirable:
1. Experience with sampling procedures
2. Experience with UV and IR
3. Experience with EP testing
4. Experience with processing a high number of samples
Education:
Degree in a scientific area (chemistry or analytical) or equivalent experience.
