Summary
We’re looking for a Collections Information Officer to support the development of the National Trust’s paint sample archive by ensuring data in the Collections Management System (CMS) is created and maintained in line with our data standards.
These samples represent miniature renditions of some of our most significant collection items, decorative interiors and estates. These paint samples contain evidence of materials, methods and techniques used by artists and craftspeople from 400BC to the present day. Your work will be instrumental in making these samples findable and accessible to internal and external researchers for the first time.
What it's like to work here
Under the guidance of the conservation scientist, your role will involve assisting in the implementation and development and application of data standards and procedures for this collection. You’ll liaise with the Collection Management and Information team, conservation scientist, property teams, conservators, curators and building surveyors to identify, collate and organise the samples. Occasionally this will require travel to where collections are stored, which may involve overnight stays.
Your contractual location will be our Royal Oak Foundation Conservation Studio, and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust locat...
