Techniche Global are supporting an engineering defence contractor to appoint an Apprenticeship Coach - Vehicle Mechanic who will play a vital role in the security of the nation and supporting the equipment used by the British Army. This includes the fleet management of over 50,000 vehicles, ranging from quad bikes and generators to main battle tanks, and weapons from pistols to cannons.
Salary: £36,400 + Benefits
Location: Colchester, East Anglia + Remote + Frequent Travel
Duration: Full Time / 12 Months Fixed Term Contract (52 weeks)
Working Hours: 37hrs per week
Day-to-day, you’ll visit vehicle mechanic learners within their workplace using your vocational experience and knowledge to deliver learning, coach, assess and support them to achieve their apprenticeship. No prior training experience required.
Key responsibilities:
Support, motivate and coach all learners through their apprenticeship programme, ensuring all components of the apprenticeship programme are completed in a timely manner whilst meeting awarding organisation, ESFA and Ofsted requirements
Monitor and review learners in line with the customers’ expectations
Ensure all required documentation is completed to the correct standard and within agreed timelines
Provide portfolio building advice and guidance to learners based on the requirements of their programme
Effectively record, plan and track individual learner progress in accordance with agreed paperwork and reporting processes.
Essential experience of the Apprenticeship Coach
Considerable experience in the vehicle mechanic field
Good understanding of work-based learning programmes
Previous experience in the defence sector, ideally within the army arena (desired not essential)
Qualifications for the Apprenticeship Coach
Relevant industry related qualification (Vehicle Mechanic minimum of Level 3)
Maths and English – GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent)
