We are looking for a dedicated SEMH Therapy Assistant to support children with moderate learning difficulties and additional mental health needs.
We are looking for a passionate and committed SEMH Therapy Assistant to work at a school in Crawley. You will be working in partnership with the school's teaching staff and therapists to deliver specific interventions that aim to boost students’ learning, development and language acquisition.
As an SEMH Therapy Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work alongside qualified Speech and Language Therapists, and Occupational Therapists to help with language and communicational needs as well as improving children's mental health. You will make a real difference to the lives of the children, gaining vital experience which will enable you to kick-start your future career.
This role will give you essential experience within a challenging yet rewarding setting – career progression routes include SEN Teacher, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist and various Child Psychology routes.

* Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students
* Behaviour and pastoral support
* Take an active role in forward planning with therapists
* Ability to build robust and effective relationships with students
* Practical approach to meet the individual needs of students
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Caring, compassionate, and a good listener
* Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students
* Ensure safeguarding of students, in line with procedures
* Personal care support
* Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD
