The Cheltenham & North Cotswolds NHS Talking Therapies team has an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who is a highly motivated and passionate person, who can work in a fast paced environment and has the desire to commit to the career of a Senior PWP.
Main duties of the job
The role of the Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) team leader will involve delivering coordination and supervision of PWP's within the NHS Gloucestershire Talking Therapy (IAPT) service North Team, providing caseload and clinical skills supervision to trainee and qualified PWP's. The role will be multi-faceted and will involve consultation, education, training and supervision as well as carrying a reduced clinical caseload. You will be required to contribute to the smooth running of all aspects of the service where the PWP role has an influence, ensuring that assessments and ongoing treatment are delivered at a high-quality level and consistent with operational standards.
Potential candidates will hold a Post Graduate Certificate (PG Cert) for Improving Access to Psychological Therapies for a minimum of 2 years, and will have had previous experience of working with individuals experiencing mental health difficulties within Primary Care Services. You must be prepared to undertake further training in delivering supervision if you do not hold this qualification. This post requires a high level of communication skills, including effective liaison with key staff both within service and the wider organisation and NHS. The post holder must be able to demonstrate the ability to work under pressure within a new role in a developing service.

Person Specification
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
1. Post Graduate Certificate (PG Cert) for Improving Access to Psychological Therapies or equivalent.
2. Educated to degree standard in a subject enabling the post holder to demonstrate psychological mindedness, Psychology, social sciences or health OR Equivalent level gained through prior relevant experience and accredited courses
3. Member of the BABCP or equivalent professional body with a code of ethics.
LENGTH AND / OR NATURE OF EXPERIENCE
Essential
4. Extensive post PWP qualification experience of working as a PWP delivering LI interventions in primary care
5. Extensive direct experience of working with patients with a range of long term conditions
6. Facilitated psychoeducational courses.
7. Able to provide supervision and undertake appraisals for PWP workforce, including trainee PWP's.
8. Demonstrates high standards in written communication
9. Extensive experience of working in Primary Care Services
10. Significant experience of working in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes
