Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Spray Painter to join our Clients team. The ideal candidate will have experience in applying high-performance coatings to various shaped substrates, ensuring superior quality and adherence to specifications. This role involves preparing surfaces, sand blasting, mixing coatings, and applying finishes while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The role will also involve some aspects of polishing and applying alternative finishes to brass products. The job role involves long periods of being on your feet and getting your hands dirty. You will be enthusiastic about the metal engineering industry and hand-crafted products, with the ability to think for yourself and problem solve. You will have good communication skills, be self-motivated and willing to learn. You are ambitious to prepare exceptional finishes. Responsibilities: Surface Preparation: Clean, degrease, and sandblast Coating Application: Mix coatings Clean and maintain work area and equipment Observation of strict Health & Safety rules at all times Quality control Finish the surface of a metal product (predominantly Brass) to specified finish, using hand tools and powered tools Apply protective wax coating to parts Use the electro plating plant to apply nickel and chrome finishes 5S and housekeeping Education/Work Experience Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of experience in applying high-performance coatings to various substrates such as metal, specifically brass. Surface Preparation: Proven experience in surface cleaning, degreasing, and sandblasting to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality. Spray Equipment Operation: Hands-on experience with HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spray guns and other coating application equipment. Colour Matching: Ability to mix and match colours accurately to achieve desired hues and finishes. Quality Control: Experience in inspecting coated products to ensure they meet specified quality standards and performing necessary rework. Safety Protocols: Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols in a coating or painting environment. Equipment Maintenance: Proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting spray equipment to ensure optimal performance. Vocational Training or Certification: Preferred, especially in automotive refinishing, industrial painting, or a related field.
