Job responsibilities
We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist (AP) to join our team at Aspen House (Cygnet Group).
Aspen House is a 20 bed hospital service specialising in high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) for women who have severe and enduring mental illness. The service was designed to provide a safe and comfortable environment that promotes recovery for women with its focus on space, personal privacy and dignity. The women we support at Cygnet Aspen House may be detained under the Mental Health Act.
We are seeking a compassionate applicant with a relentlessly positive approach to support and enhance the psychological care of patients in Aspen House by assisting the MDT and Counselling Psychologist.
The work of the Aspen House AP includes:
1. Work within the psychology team to deliver weekly psychology groups.
2. Developing and updating START risk assessments
3. One to one support for inpatients
4. Administration and scoring of psychological tests and assessments
5. Co-produce formulations with patients
6. Drafting reports
7. Attending and contributing to MDT meetings
8. Participation in regular weekly supervision.
Were looking for someone who has:
9. Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS)
10. A minimum of 6 months previous paid work experience as an Assistant Psychologist in a hospital or healthcare setting
11. Enjoys working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
12. Prior knowledge or experience of DBT, CBT and third-wave therapies.
13. Good IT skills.

Contracted hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days a week.
