Do you want a career that tackles global challenges? At OX Delivers, we're empowering communities and driving positive change through improving access to transport.
More Than Just a Startup, We're a Mission-Driven Force
We're seeking passionate individuals to shape the future of transportation. This is your chance to develop groundbreaking technology with a direct impact on people's lives.
Empower Communities. Drive Change. Join OX Delivers!
We're not your average tech startup. We're targeting the 3 billion people in the Global South who lack access to reliable transportation, hindering their economic opportunities. Our innovative electric OX trucks are changing the game.
Building a Brighter Future, One Sustainable Delivery at a Time
The lack of transport infrastructure leads to food spoilage and limited economic growth for farmers and entrepreneurs across the Global South. OX Delivers is building a self-reinforcing cycle of economic empowerment and social impact, starting with markets across Africa.
The Heart of Our Mission: Technology with Impact
The heart of what we do is technology: the OX truck and the supporting digital ecosystem. The OX truck is the world’s first electric truck purpose-built for dirt roads to enable profitable logistics. Its simple design is focussed on total lifetime costs, in-market repairability and serviceability, and for manufacture in local markets.

Tasks
We are looking for an experienced Buyer to help us secure the parts needed to meet our ambitious targets for truck production next year and beyond.
Our organisation is structured into vertically-stacked Truck teams responsible for everything from design to the delivery of parts.
Each team has an embedded Buyer responsible for procuring all parts, materials, components, and services.
We have already produced four prototype trucks. You will work closely with our engineers to identify optimal solutions based on insights from these prototypes.
Currently, we use a mix of donor parts from other manufacturers, off-the-shelf parts, and custom-made components for the OX trucks. Your primary focus will be reducing the cost of donor parts by finding new suppliers.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and resolving any queries regarding price, quality, delivery, or invoicing.
Analysis will also be a key part of your role, including reviewing BOM costs, evaluating supplier performance, and providing reports to the wider business.
You will need to be creative and think outside the box. Our company thrives on innovation and exploring new ways of doing things.
Requirements
You must have experience working as a Buyer.
Ideally, this includes purchasing of new products, such as R&D projects or within a smaller business. It's crucial that you have supported engineering teams building in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
You should have a deep understanding of procurement processes, including change control, stock rotation, material planning, and supplier quality protocols.
It's important that you can build effective working relationships with suppliers, we'll want to hear about how your relationships contributed to successful outcomes.
Analysis will be a significant part of your role. We want to hear about the analysis and reporting you have completed in past roles and how it contributed to business success.
We will also want to understand how you research and evaluate new suppliers and what you consider most important when engaging a new supplier.
You must be a highly organised Buyer. We want to know how you stay on track when deadlines are looming.
Finally, everyone at OX shares a strong sense of purpose in their work. We will want to understand why our mission resonates with you personally.
Benefits
We are making a positive impact on the world, reducing poverty, gender inequality, and climate change.
We are a commercial business with a strong sense of purpose.
We offer hybrid working, with most staff spending 2 or 3 days per week in our office for collaborative work.
We also offer flexible working practices so you can do the school run or pop to the dentist when you need to without stress.
Our teams track progress, not hours.
All staff receive share options so you share in our success.
We offer unlimited holiday, so essentially, if your team agrees, you can have it!

OX Delivers is a social impact automotive start-up with a difference; we are targeting the ~3 billion people in rural emerging markets who have never bought a vehicle, new or used. We are focused on driving prosperous trade in those communities in a way that is net-zero-compatible.
We believe that prosperous trade is the most effective means of alleviating poverty and improving access to education, healthcare, and opportunity.
At OX, we work in self-managing Scrum teams. This underpins a culture of trust, flexibility, and teamwork.
We want to create a team with the following values;
* Passionate about making a difference
* Teamwork enabled by trust

Being a start-up business means things can change quickly, which drives uncertainty. We expect our teams to be able to adapt and respond to different types of work, broadening your experience. We know this kind of environment isn’t for everyone so consider this before applying!
