About this client/child: Louie is a 10-year-old boy with a contagious smile and a joyful disposition. He enjoys a variety of activities such as soft play, swimming, attending the theatre, going for walks, and visiting funfairs. Louie is a fan of shows like Hey Duggee and Peppa Pig, as well as animated films. He has two younger brothers, Elliott (7) and Timmy (4), who are both bright and creative. Elliott is passionate about mathematics and word searches, while Timmy has a keen interest in trains and enjoys spending time at local playgrounds. The family enjoys outdoor adventures together, often going on bike rides. Louie was born with a rare chromosome disorder, which means he is non-verbal and has severe learning difficulties. He requires assistance with eating (pureed food only), drinking, and all aspects of personal care. Despite his challenges, Louie communicates effectively using facial expressions, Makaton, and a communication book. Although he is mobile, he uses a specialist buggy for longer outings. Louie is smaller than his peers and sometimes experiences sensory processing issues, which can lead to behaviors like chewing, stimming, or rocking. He is a warm, engaging child with a lot of love to share.

Louie’s mother is a full-time stay-at-home mum, and the role requires a collaborative approach to managing the busy household and caring for the children. The role may involve facilitating Louie's participation in after-school clubs or helping the other boys with homework and club pickups.
