Independently manage the H@N triaging system and understand H@N structure and teams capabilities to appropriately allocate jobs accordingly, maintaining fairness, safety, and efficiency.
Work independently as an autonomous nurse practitioner undertaking comprehensive history & physical examination skills to support differential diagnosis. Order, interpret, and analyse new and historical results of tests/investigations.
Acts on the results to confirm diagnosis and thereby optimise treatment and management outcomes. Applies high level decision-making and assessment skills to formulate appropriate differential diagnoses based on synthesis of clinical findings.
Able to identify early on the acutely unwell deteriorating adult, facilitating early escalation and intervention to prevent further deterioration of the presenting illness using advanced clinical skills. Able to identify when and if patients need an escalation in care to the appropriate dependency environment and facilitates safe transfer of critically unwell patient in timely fashion using the correct processes and resources.
Attends and leads in collaboration with the on-call medical registrar all NEWS calls and cardiac arrest emergencies as part of the emergency response team. Works closely with the junior doctors in providing consistent, high standards of care portraying strong leadership and demonstrating a proactive work ethic.
