Purpose of Role:
A vacancy currently exists for a Diagnostic Technician. The purpose of this role is to diagnose failure modes, identifying and communicating rework action, and to identify corrective actions to improve the product yield.
Summary of responsibilities:
1. Identifying faults in the products and identifying the correct rework action to fix the fault.
2. Making recommendations to improve the yield for all product types.
3. Prioritising workload in accordance with output targets.
4. Highlighting real time build and test failures to minimise the impact of the fault and to help identify corrective / preventative measures to increase the yield.
5. Working closely with and supporting the production, product and process engineering departments on current production as well as new product introduction.
6. Involved with data gathering and reporting as well as making recommendations in connection with process improvements and cost reductions.
7. Review and update production documentation.
8. Assisting production in product testing to achieve the daily targets.
9. Liaising with the production, product and process engineering departments to carry out failure mode and effects analysis.
10. Ensuring the product meets the required build standard and to initiate improvements to the build process.
11. Responsible for ensuring all gold standards are fit for purpose.
12. Responsible for ensuring all RMA’s are investigated, appropriate rework actions are completed within the agreed customer delivery date.
13. Responsible for all customer specific batching requirements.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in RF/Microwave Test in a production or development environment and will also be able to satisfy the following requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
14. Knowledge and practical experience in the use, setup and calibration of the following equipment: VNA, RF Synthesiser, Power Meter, Spectrum Analyser, DC Power Supplies.
15. Experience in the use of the following software packages; Word, Excel.
16. Experience in using computers for automated test.
17. Good communication skills, as interfacing with many different work groups is essential.
18. Self-motivated to carry out defined tasks with a reasonable amount of independence.
