Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare has an exciting opportunity for an experienced CAMHS Community Nurse.
Eastleigh CAMHS is a Community CAMHS team within Hampshire CAMHS, made up of a wide range of professionals. We offer a supportive and engaging environment, with opportunities for learning, regular supervision, and peer support readily available. We focus on wellbeing, have regular team days, and highly value the role of the Nurse. Nurses are supported across teams with their CPD and learning opportunities. This year, we held a specific Nurses away day, which was very well received by those who attended.
The role of Community Nurse is to work in partnership with young people and families in the designated care group with complex health presentations, developing their care plans and recovery plans to enable them to lead fulfilling lives. The post holder will demonstrate an understanding of clinical interventions relevant to the care group, including education, care plans, and discharge planning, working closely with carers, families, and partner agencies to facilitate this. The post holder will promote the safety and well-being of children, young people, and their families/carers, assess, plan, and implement care, provide specialist nursing advice, and carry out specialist nursing procedures. They will provide clinical supervision to staff and students and act as a mentor for student nurses.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner who will carry continuing responsibility for a defined caseload of service users by undertaking the following duties:
1. To undertake assessments of individuals and their families in the designated care group with complex health presentations, including those service users presenting with higher levels of risk. To develop their care plan alongside the service user.
2. To offer specialist nursing assessment and advice where required.
3. To assess and manage ongoing risks identified during the assessment, ensuring this is done in collaboration with the service user and carers. To regularly review risk factors and make changes to the management of them as necessary.
4. To contribute to the maintenance and development of the Trust nursing strategy.
5. To ensure that clinical practice is evidence-based and consistent with relevant NICE guidelines and Trust policies and procedures.
6. To provide supervision of junior staff and trainees where appropriate.
7. To act within the NMC code of conduct at all times.

Essential
* Registered Nurse with current registration [mental health/LD/Adult], appropriate to the job role
* Completion of Mentorship Course/ENB equivalent
* Evidence of continuous professional development
