Role Overview:
As a SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEMH needs. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs
Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
Encouraging positive social interactions and emotional regulation
Supporting students in their academic work and promoting independence
Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students
Creating a safe and nurturing environment conducive to learning
What We Are Looking For:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
Experience working with children with SEMH needs (in a school or related setting is preferred)
A strong understanding of child development and SEMH challenges
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or related fields are advantageous
