Design Manager needed in Birmingham to assist my tier 1 client on a 3-4 month basis which could extend further! This is a huge scheme looking for someone with experience across infrastructure, architectural and facade design experience
My client will assess you for OUTSIDE OF IR35!
This role is required during the pre-construction phase ahead of construction early 2025!
You will ideally need to be based in the office 5 days a week.
Roles and responsibilities:
1. Management of the design on behalf of the tier 1 contract to achieve a safe, buildable, operational and maintainable asset.
2. Ensure a suitable regime of intervention and verification to deliver the necessary technical assurance, particularly where scope is progressively fixed and assured.
3. Support the review of major Assurance deliverables.
4. Review and approve key technical documents, particularly design reports and specifications.
5. Support the clients Design Managers in review and approval of all other submissions to the client and/or third parties.
6. Ensure that technical issues are identified, escalated and resolved as efficiently as possible.
7. Verify discipline competence and undertake surveillance of project design processes.
8. Ensure exemplary quality and sustainability standards.
9. Provide technical support to quality and design processes including change control and requests for information.
Requirements:
10. A degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or equivalent
11. A background working in a similar capacity
12. You must have experience working on major infrastructure/rail contracts.
13. Valid CSCS
